“Just teach ’em to be a cop” is one of the most common phrases new FTOs hear when they ask what they are supposed to be doing. That statement, however, assumes that the new FTO knows how to teach in the first place. There are six basic steps of instruction that, if followed by the FTO, will encourage positive learning by the new officer. One the flip side of that, if the FTO fails to do one of these six steps then it usually ensures poor performance. This webinar will instruct the FTO on the six important steps of instruction in the FTO program.
