Course Overview:

A goal of many police officers is to be promoted to a supervisor in order to lead others and to expand one’s personal knowledge and scope of influence.  It is important to be prepared for this major change in the work environment to help ensure success and avoid pitfalls that may hinder growth in both the supervisor and those being supervised.

This virtual training module will address some of situations that might be expected when someone is newly promoted to a supervisory position.  We will discuss what to expect personally and professionally in your new role.  Getting off to a good start as a leader can be hugely important for long-term success and will certainly make the transition less stressful for everyone.  At the end of the webinar, students will have specific concepts they can use to make the transition smoother, avoid unnecessary problems, and be better prepared as a new leader.
