Description
Course Overview:
The most effective leaders, managers, and supervisors are the developers of people. The process of leadership development involves mutual respect, responsibility, and partnership between the leader and the follower. There is no best leadership response for all people in all situations. Treating everyone the same will only ensure that a leader is not providing the response needed for all followers all of the time. So how should supervisors and managers respond so that they can motivate and inspire those who might not be meeting the standards of expectation? Or, how can leaders take their good workers to the next level?
There are many factors that determine an individual’s demonstrated ability at a task or his/her engagement in completing the task to a standard. A leader should be familiar with key performance indicators and strive to develop their ability to identify behaviors that will help determine an appropriate leadership response. This webinar will discuss ways to first diagnose a follower’s performance state at a task and determine their specific leadership needs at that time. We will then discuss various responses using both directive and supportive behaviors in order for the follower to be successful. Case studies based on real experience will highlight the discussion.
