Course Objectives
Course Overview:
Date: January 20, 2027
Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm Eastern
A crime scene is a scene of chaos until someone takes charge with structure, purpose, and attention to detail.
The decisions made at a crime scene can make or break an investigation. A missed photograph, a mishandled item of evidence, or a poorly chosen lab submission can’t be undone. The person making those decisions might be a ranking supervisor, the patrol officer who arrives first, or the detective who inherits the scene. This online training is designed to give law enforcement personnel of every rank the practical, field-ready skills to run a scene with confidence, protect the integrity of the evidence, and build cases that hold up.
This course is designed for all law enforcement personnel who may be responsible for a crime scene, and who have the desire to do the job right when it matters most.
Topics include:
• Scene Command and Control
• Crime Scene Photography
• Evidence Recognition and Collection
• Blood Evidence
• Ballistic Evidence
• Latent Fingerprints and Palm Prints
• Crime Scene Diagramming
• Lab Submission Strategy and Understanding the Lab Report
• Documentation and Reporting
• Courtroom Readiness
The scene only gets processed once. Make sure it’s done right.
