FIFTH CIRCUIT UPHOLDS QUALIFIED IMMUNITY FOR DEADLY FORCE AGAINST ARMED, FLEEING SUSPECT

FIFTH CIRCUIT DISCUSSES EXCESSIVE FORCE

On February 15, 2022, the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals decided Craig v. Martin[i], which serves as an excellent review of the law related to excessive force under the Fourth Amendment.  The relevant facts of Craig are as follows: Officer Martin received a call dispatching him to a "disturbance" in the South Division of Fort Worth.
