Matthew Greely
Detective Matthew Greely is a veteran Police Officer with the Providence, RI Police Department with over 15 years of dedicated law enforcement experience.
Matt currently serves as the lead firearms instructor and armorer for the Providence, RI Police Department. He is a member of the S.W.A.T team and serves as the team’s medic. Matt has trained thousands of officers in firearms and less lethal munitions. He is also a member of the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.
Detective Greely earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Administration of Justice from Anna Maria College.

Course Overview:

Time: 1:00pm-3:00pm (Eastern Time)

This training will discuss immediate action plans, response/deployment plans and touch upon written directives, policy and procedures. Indicate the differences between active threats, active shooters and barricaded subjects and boil it down to a unified response that could/should work and be employed by any agency.
Discuss evidence based data that we have and should know from active shooter/active threat incidents over the last decade.
This training will offer guidance for all size departments.  
-Discuss directives, policies and procedures that make sense
-Identify a realistic training plan and DO IT
-Identify additional resources and assets (Fire Dept, Hospitals, Public transportation)
-Establishing an immediate action plan
-Utilize immediate and rapid deployment to:
    -locate and neutralize the threat
    -prevent suspect access to potential victims
    -rescue injured persons and potential victims
STOP the SHOOTING, STOP the BLEEDING, START the HEALING
What to do when you arrive on the scene?
-Everything from where to park, what to bring, who to notify, where to go
-Discuss indicators and stimulants and how to react to them
-SINGLE OFFICER response plan
-Multiply agency responses, Unified command, and Communications.
